Music
To me the best music ever made came from the fields, dirt roads, & dancehalls of Texas and Louisiana. There hasn't been much truly original music written since Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly & Jimmie Rogers, But I do admire Blaze Foley, Townes, Clifton Chenier & Waylon.
I’ve had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Charlie Louvin, Dale Watson, Billy Joe Shaver, Robert Earl Keen, Johnny Winter, Hank 3, Dwight Yoakam, Sonny Landreth, & a few of my other Heros. Friends that have helped me along the way & recorded with me include Horace Trahan, Scott H. Biram, Tony Daigle, Kenneth Richard, The Great sam Weadon, Miss Amy Boone, Michael Juan Nunez, Jay Burton, the Holden brothers, Josh Caffrey, Brennen Leigh, Porter Yax, and all the dirty Cajuns.
The best time I ever had playin music was with the prison band at the Angola Rodeo. Them boys at the State Penn told me, “Music is Music- Maybe you got something to say.” I told em I get em out one day. What do you know the Warden let em out for a day to play a fundraiser at my place in Scott.
So, If you don’t like my singing voice, that’s okay. Don’t like my guitar pickin’, good for you. But if you don’t like my songs -there’s no reason for you to be on my site. My music is pretty simple & my better songs are mostly about dead people…The truth is good musicians are just cheap imitations of Ghosts of the past.
